Terminus
When we first came to Iloilo, Lola Nanay's (grandma's) house was suddenly filled with people and stuff, it was difficult not to bang one's knee somewhere or trip on something littered on the floor. There were suddenly two of everything, two sofa sets, two dining tables, two pantry cabinets, two microwaves, additional electric fans, computers, beds, cabinets, china, and two cars. It was a mess. The added stuff meant added electricity loads to the once simple house wiring utilized.
To make sure nothing bad like an overload happens, one of the first things I had installed by an electrician was additional circuit breakers to distribute electrical loads and replace thin or old electrical wiring around the house. Almost all of the wiring was exposed (mounted on the walls and not embedded), so making the alterations and upgrades were fairly easy and was completed in just a couple of days. The circuit breakers were located in the then dirty kitchen, which we tore down a week ago. Now the circuit breakers were exposed to the elements. Although a roof is over it, it's still in front of the house facing the street. Which was unsightly to say the least.
I employed the help of Yok-Yok to relocate all the wiring inside the house and into a circuit breaker panel board for a more appropriate finish. I told Yok-Yok to mount it on the wall and not to embed it since it will only be a temporary thing. I have plans of erecting a new wall in the coming months to detach the house from the perimeter wall. The panel board will then be embedded on the new wall of the house permanently. For now, the order is to clean up all the wires and collect them into a proper panel board. I bought one with ten branches (even when just 6 would do since I also plan to add a second floor someday. I also had all the unnecessary wires removed, old telephone terminals that are no longer used, as well as the sub-meter used by my uncle when he was tapped into our power line. What's left leading from the post to the house is the active phone line. Now that the wires are removed, I can have the ceiling on the eaves put in.
