The newest member of our family arrived a few days ago, Mimi and Bob's third child, Robert Kevin Cook Jr. or simply Bobby Jr. He was born 8:55 in the morning of March 5th, weighing 8 pounds 14 ounces, and is 21 inches long. He's a big baby boy. I understand they had him circumcised already. And Mimi has already had her tubes tied as well. So in a single day, three operations took place in one busy hospital room.
Mimi was not aware she was already pregnant with Bobby Jr. until late in the first trimester, so little Bobby did not get a traditional baby shower, but the love and attention he received was no less the same. A blessing is a blessing and when it comes packaged as a boy -- completing the family -- anticipating his arrival was just as exciting as when the twins were announced.
Mimi and Bob's family is now complete. They have two girls and a boy now. This is how nuclear families are described when we were growing up in the 70's and 80's. Mimi's going to have to triple her efforts now that she's taking care of two toddlers and a newborn. Our prayers go out for this very young branch of our little family. May the Lord bless them and keep them always, and make them grow in love and faith. Congratulations to the proud parents, and welcome to the world Bobby Jr!
